This will have the block you are looking at appear in your hotbar. Instead, you can press the middle-scrolling button on your mouse while looking at the block you want. (This is just an example of course, there are many other circumstances in which this would be useful.) What I mean by this is if you need stone bricks to finish a building and you have stone bricks in front of you, it is possible to have a stone brick appear in your inventory without getting it out of your creative menu. If you are in creative mode, you can easily get a block that you are looking at to appear in your inventory. *I know this is not a new feature of minecraft, but I thought this post would be helpful for new players and players who use a trackpad instead of a mouse to know how to do this*
